The wind never blows in a straight line

2016

(Excerpt from the text by Juan Duque for Topological Exercises.)

To launch a boomerang in a correct way and achieve their return it is required to have these external conditions such as the direction of the wind, the terrain, the physical characteristics of the instrument, but especially a throwing technique that results in specific body movements. A gesture that shows us the close relationships that are established between the body, tool, space, time and energy.

Guided by Juan Duque's instructions on the boomerang, I decided to test the mobility of a paper and capture it in the air in order to create a series of moving but static sculptures.

We know that in order for the paper to take all these random forms there was a body, an arm, a hand, as an instrument launching this material with sculptural potentials.
